We attended the polio vaccination meeting at 7:30 am as our final in-person meeting with the Mzimba North District Health Office (DHO). We had goodbyes with our team members who we spent the most time with for the past four days beginning 6:30 am until 6:00 pm. We will write a report on the polio vaccination campaign and submit it to the DHO.
Some of us got our hair braided by the local hairdresser. Rena got all of her hair braided, and it took four hours! We all love our new hairstyles:) In the afternoon, we had the final meeting with Rebecca, director of Luke International (LIN) Malawi Office. We talked about our learning experience in Malawi and the future collaborations we could work on together. We are very thankful that LIN had created such a strong relationship with the Chiputula Primary School and DHO that we were warmly welcomed and able to build a closer relationship with them.
We had our last dinner with John and Baxter in Mzuzu as John was leaving for Lilongwe the next day. We played chess and mahjong and had delicious Italian food! We will begin working on our nutrition project with John and Baxter once we are settled back in our countries.
