It was our second day of the 2022 SHANTU bilingual summer camp at Xinzhuang Elementary School. Our day started with the opening ceremony of our summer camp. During the ceremony, Teacher Bri introduced 4 group names —— Guava Group、Sweet Potato Leaf Squad、Passion Fruit Pals、Pineapple Posse——and the group chant for each group. We learned the chants and shared them with all our friends and our guests.
After our opening ceremony, we introduced the course for today. Teacher Rin and Teacher Ari taught all of our little friends about the Sustainable Development Goals and the related vocabulary words. We started with a vocabulary learning activity —— word cafe. We learned vocabulary words while rotating and communicating with different teachers. Afterwards, we played a SDGs logo matching game. We learned about all 17 SDGs, including what these targets are about and some examples of these SDGs in our daily life and in international settings.
After learning more about the SDGs, we started to think about what we can do as little Healthy Helpers to help with achieving the SDGs. Our Healthy Helpers have so many great ideas. We shared our ideas together and told our friends our favorite idea. Our energetic Healthy Helpers would like to take the actions with their friends and their family. That’s all for today.
