Day 30 |  Fun food activities at Chiputula Primary School | SHANTU Archive

Today Jade and Tiffany did a fun food activity where they prepared Taiwanese food for the students. The stir fried tomato with eggs was made for over 500 students and was used to talk about the nutrients in different foods. Preparing the food required a lot of teamwork and help, but the students really enjoyed the activity and snack. April and Rena made a food pairing game for the kids and taught them how to get maximum nutrients from different food pairings.

Miku and Penny started the morning early at a District Health Office (DHO) meeting. The meeting was to discuss the upcoming polio vaccination campaign, preparation status, and the upcoming schedule for mobilization. After the meeting they went home to prepare their food activity for tomorrow. They will talk about different cooking methods and have prepared steamed sweet potato balls for their 300+ students in Standard Six.

Highlights:

  • Standard five nutrition class: demonstration of health meals.
  • Standard seven nutrition class: Food pairing and food safety.
